Refreshing Southern Drink Recipes

Sis, you KNOW we gotta have the right drinks for the church picnic! ☀️🍹 Ain’t nothing like ice-cold sweet tea, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and a signature punch to keep everybody cool while we eat and fellowship! And don’t worry.

Get your mason jars ready because we about to mix up some Southern classics.

Southern Sweet Tea

🍋 Old-Fashioned Southern Sweet Tea (Cold, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweet!)

Ingredients:

✔ 8 cups water
✔ 6 black tea bags (Lipton or Luzianne, because we don’t do weak tea!)
✔ 1½ cups granulated sugar
✔ ½ tsp baking soda (keeps it smooth, no bitterness!)
✔ *Lemon slices & fresh mint (for garnish, optional!)

Instructions:

1️⃣ Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and let steep for 10-15 minutes.
2️⃣ Remove tea bags, stir in sugar while tea is still warm, and mix until dissolved.
3️⃣ Add baking soda (it neutralizes bitterness!) and 4 more cups of cold water.
4️⃣ Pour into a pitcher with ice and chill for at least 1 hour.
5️⃣ Serve over ice with lemon slices or fresh mint!

💡 Pro Tip: Want a little fruit-flavored twist? Throw in some peach slices or strawberries for a naturally sweet touch.

Fresh-Squeezed Southern Lemonade

🍋 Fresh-Squeezed Southern Lemonade (Tart, sweet, and better than any store-bought mix!)

Ingredients:

✔ 8 cups cold water
✔ 1½ cups fresh lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
✔ 1½ cups granulated sugar
✔ *1 lemon, sliced (for garnish!)
✔ *Ice (because we need it ice-cold!)

Instructions:

1️⃣ In a large pitcher, stir together lemon juice and sugar until dissolved.
2️⃣ Add cold water and mix well.
3️⃣ Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
4️⃣ Serve over ice with lemon slices!

💡 Pro Tip: Feeling fancy? Add crushed strawberries for homemade strawberry lemonade! 🍓✨

Big Mama’s Picnic Punch

🍉 Big Mama’s Picnic Punch (Fruity, refreshing, and church-approved! 🍹)

Ingredients:

✔ 4 cups pineapple juice
✔ 2 cups orange juice
✔ 2 cups cranberry juice
✔ 2 cups ginger ale or Sprite (for that fizz! 🍾)
✔ 1 cup fresh fruit slices (oranges, strawberries, pineapple rings!)
✔ Ice, lots of it!

Instructions:

1️⃣ In a large punch bowl, mix pineapple juice, orange juice, and cranberry juice.
2️⃣ Just before serving, add ginger ale or Sprite to keep it fizzy.
3️⃣ Add fresh fruit slices and ice.
